Biography

Dr. Roth has experience in all facets of pediatric orthopedics, with specialized training in limb and spinal deformity, hip preservation, foot and ankle conditions, sports medicine, and neuromuscular disease management, as well as pediatric and adult trauma. He was motivated to pursue this specialty because he enjoys working with children and their families and using his extensive knowledge and training to make a difference in people’s lives. Children are not just small adults. Their growing bodies require specialized orthopedic care, whether treating a fracture or a complicated medical condition like limb and spinal deformity. Dr. Roth’s early education and career was in the field of engineering research and development. After working as an engineer for seven years, he attended graduate school to obtain a biomedical engineering certificate. There he was exposed to medicine and surgery as a career, and found his true calling. He went on to pursue a medical education and was given the opportunity to translate all his life experiences into a meaningful and fulfilling career. His background gives him a unique perspective when treating patients, as well as the ability to integrate his engineering and medical skillsets for continued clinical research in medical device development, scoliosis, hip preservation, and trauma. Passionate about mission work, Dr. Roth had the gratifying opportunity to work with patients in the Dominican Republic at the Cure Hospital and in St. Vincent and the Grenadines with the World Pediatric Project. Additionally, he worked with SIGN Fracture Care International to develop implants for fixing hip fractures without the use of specialty imaging in developing world hospitals. He enjoys practicing at The Center with a multidisciplinary group of highly-trained colleagues that has strong ties to the community. He enjoys backcountry skiing, golf, biking, travel, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
