    • the exam is scored and recorded, but not timed. Therefore, you have as much time as you would like to complete the exam.
  • Are these questions the same as the questions in the orthobullets study plan
    • Study plans done for CME & SAE contain SAE exams that may be the same as the questions as on these exams. Simply look at the title. For instance, if you take the MOC Spine 89 Day Study Plan you will see it includes Spine A and Spine B Self-Assessment Exams. These are the same  Spine A and Spine B Self-Assessment Exams listed above.

Course Requirements:
1. You must answer all questions in the exam
2. You must score a minimum of 20%
3. You must complete the survey at the end.

Course Description:

The Self-Assessment Exam (SAE) is designed to help surgeons in practice fulfill the ABOS Maintenance of Certification Life Long Learning & Self-Assessment requirement. As part of the ABOS Maintenance of Certification Life Long Learning & Self-Assessment requirements, orthopaedic surgeons are required to complete 120 CME credits of which 20 must be scored and recorded self-assessment examinations (SAE), for each 3 year cycle.

The results of the SAE should direct the participant toward areas of study that will lead to professional improvement.

Target Audience:
Practicing orthopaedic surgeons looking to obtain their annual SAE CME credit.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
a. Identify areas of study on which they should focus.
b. Evaluate specific knowledge gaps.
c. Identify performance strengths and weaknesses.

Accreditation Statement(s):

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education (FORE) and Lineage Medical, LLC. FORE is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education designates this internet activity for a maximum of 15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

SAE Course Requirements:
Complete all 100 scored/recorded questions from the selected exam.

Duration:
Start Date- June 1, 2014
End Date- June 1, 2017
