Persistent fracture line after scaphoid fracture fixation.

A 32-year-old male nonsmoker had dorsal percutaneous screw fixation of a nondisplaced scaphoid waist fracture. Six months after surgery, he has wrist pain and is discretely tender over the scaphoid. Radiographs and computed tomography (CT) demonstrate a persistent fracture line and a loose screw, but good alignment of the scaphoid.
