In this video, Dr. Patel and Dr. Stulberg show their technique for safe and accurate utilization of new patient-specific instruments in total knee arthroplasty. Customized guide-blocks can help increase efficiency and accuracy in the operating room. However with the transition to preoperative computer-based planning, there can be a loss of intraoperative feedback that is present with conventional techniques. Here we demonstrate our technique which combines modern technique with conventional instruments to ensure safe and proper use of patient-specific instrumentation.
