This video demonstrates the soft tissue contouring technique following polydactyly toe excision. After excising the extra digit, excess subcutaneous fat is carefully removed by gentle curettage and knife scraping to achieve a smooth contour. The skin is then closed using transverse mattress sutures with Prolene to match the normal foot shape without tension. Any remaining redundant skin is sharply excised to refine the contour and restore the natural appearance of the toe. This technique helps achieve optimal aesthetic and functional outcomes, minimizing postoperative bulk and improving the final foot shape.
