Physeal bars develop after trauma to the growth plate. Subsequent disturbance of normal growth can result in significant deformities. Ideal reconstructive treatment would allow resumption of normal growth. This can be accomplished in some cases by the technique of surgical resection of the partial physeal bar.
This video shows surgical technique of physeal bar excision from distal tibia which was causing deformity in the patient.
