Sensory Testing - Pin and Light Touch

Plays: 4

Video Description

This video demonstrates the technique of checking both Pin prick, and light touch during a sensory exam. Apply steady and equal pressure at each spot tested, comparing the affected area with the opposite side of the body, and/or the patient's face. You can look for signs of Allodynia (a painful response to non-painful stimuli ie. light touch) or Hyperalgesia (a heightened pain response to a painful stimuli ie. pin prick).
