ACL Repair (as opposed to reconstruction)

ACL repair is an alternative to ACL reconstruction (BTB, Hamstring, Quad autograft).
Potential advantages of ACL repair over reconstruction:
1. No donor site morbidity from removing hamstring or patella tendon
2. Preserves normal ACL anatomy
3. Smaller incisions
4. Improved proprioception (ability to feel where your knee is in space)
5. No bone loss or risk of tunnel dilation sen in ACL Recon
