Biography

Dr. Daniel S. Horwitz is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic trauma. He serves as the Chief of Trauma for the Geisinger Musculoskeletal Institute. Dr. Horwitz received his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1990. He completed his internship at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in 1991, followed by a residency at Columbia University Medical Center from 1991 to 1995. He then completed a fellowship in trauma at the University of Utah Hospital and Clinics in 1996. Dr. Horwitz is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His clinical expertise includes unstable pelvic and acetabular fractures, complex articular injuries, and nonunions/osteomyelitis. He leads one of the largest orthopaedic trauma teams in the country, providing care at multiple trauma centers. Dr. Horwitz has published extensively on various aspects of orthopaedic trauma and actively teaches orthopaedic residents while lecturing nationally and internationally.
