Dr. Jeffrey Yao is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University Medical Center, specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder surgery. He completed his medical degree at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College in 1999, followed by an Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he was recognized as Surgical Intern of the Year in 2000 and Orthopaedic Surgery Resident of the Year in 2001. He pursued a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Philadelphia Hand Center, completing it in 2005. Dr. Yao joined Stanford in 2005 and has been instrumental in advancing minimally-invasive and arthroscopic techniques for upper extremity disorders. He has authored over 110 peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at numerous national and international conferences. Dr. Yao is actively involved in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, serving as the Hand and Upper Limb Fellowship Director at Stanford University Medical Center.
