Susan V. Bukata, MD is an orthopaedic surgeon speicializing in oncology on the UCLA faculty with a significant research interest in bone fragility and bone healing. For over 10 years she has maintained a portion of her practice managing osteoporosis and metabolic bone patients. She spent 8 years on faculty at the University of Rochester and helped with the development and implementation of the Geriatric Fracture treatment algorithm now followed around the world. She is very involved in the development of fracture liason services to help capture and treat post fragilty fracture patient with osteoporosis. She lectures around the world on the role of orthopaedic surgeons in the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis after fragility fracture.
