Biography

Dr. Fernando Hyon Serna, MD, MPH, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic trauma and injuries to the upper and lower extremities and pelvis. He serves as the Chief of Surgery at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center in Gainesville, GA. Dr. Serna completed his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine, followed by a Master of Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center and a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at Grant Medical Center. Dr. Serna is fluent in English and Spanish and is dedicated to providing comprehensive care to his patients.
