Dr. Peter Brooks, MD, FRCSC, is a staff physician in the Orthopaedic & Rheumatologic Center at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, specializing in total joint replacement of the hip and knee, and hip resurfacing. He has performed over 4,600 hip resurfacing procedures since the implant system was approved by the FDA in 2006, making him one of the highest volume hip resurfacing practitioners in the United States. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in 2022, Dr. Brooks served as Chief of Surgery at Cleveland Clinic’s Euclid Hospital in Ohio and Director of Cleveland Clinic’s Training Center for Hip Resurfacing. He earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine in 1979, completed his residency at Brigham & Women's Hospital in 1984, and a fellowship in total joint replacement at Mount Sinai Hospital in 1986. Dr. Brooks is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the American Orthopaedic Association.
