Biography

Dr. James R. Goss, DO, specializes in orthopedic surgery at Valdosta Orthopedic Associates in Valdosta, Georgia. His areas of interest include sports medicine, arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee, and ankle, as well as total joint replacement of the shoulder, knee, and hip. Dr. Goss completed his medical education at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1979, followed by an internship at Staten Island Public Health Service Hospital in New York City in 1980. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at New York Medical College in Valhalla in 1984 and a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Cornell Hospital for Special Surgery in New York in 1985. Dr. Goss is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and a member of the Southern Orthopaedic Association, the Eastern Orthopaedic Association, and the South Georgia Medical Society. He is married to Carmina Goss, and they have seven children. Dr. Goss is an active motorcycle enthusiast, outdoorsman, and enjoys spending time with his family.
