Biography

Dr. James Kelly is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity care. He treats a wide variety of conditions below the shoulder such as carpal tunnel syndrome, congenital hand conditions, and injuries. Dr. Kelly considers his attention to detail a critical component of patient care. He’s committed to the idea of treating patients, not conditions, and tailoring the treatments to the patient’s goals and expectations, based on conversation and taking the time to get to know them. Outside of work, Dr. Kelly is a ferrier for his children. In between that, he enjoys live theater, wine, classical music, trying new restaurants, and learning about anything and everything. He’s a proud Trekkie and a talented singer. He loves his life as a professor where he can put his passions for learning, teaching, and lecturing to use, but also entertains someday engaging other passions to teach philosophy, history, or theology.
