Biography

With an illustrious academic and professional journey, Dr. Abbasian has established himself as a prominent figure in the field of orthopedic surgery. He obtained his medical degree from Shahid Beheshti (Melli) University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran, and subsequently completed a comprehensive 4-year orthopedic surgery residency in Tehran. Following this, he pursued specialized training in Sports Medicine and joint preservation through a fellowship in Bern, Switzerland. During his tenure as an attending orthopedic surgeon at Shahid Beheshti (Melli) University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Abbasian made significant contributions to orthopedic care and education in the Middle East, serving as a faculty member of AO trauma. Seeking to expand his horizons, Dr. Abbasian embarked on further specialization in the United States. He completed a distinguished research fellowship at Harvard Medical School, followed by a clinical fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Andrews Institute. Subsequently, he pursued a Sports Medicine fellowship at Jefferson Health. Currently, he is slated to commence a third Sports and Shoulder fellowship at the University of Connecticut in August 2024. Dr. Abbasian's professional trajectory reflects his unwavering commitment to lifelong learning, clinical excellence, and the integration of research into his practice.
