Biography

Brian G. Leggin, PT, DPT, OCS is currently Coordinator of Clinical Outcomes at Good Shepherd Penn Partners, Penn Therapy and Fitness and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine. He received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College in 1991, a Master of Science in Biomedical Science from Drexel University in 1997, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Temple University in 2006. He is certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles in journals such as Physical Therapy, Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy. Brian is the author of the Penn Shoulder Score, a self-report outcome measure for patients with shoulder disorders. Brian has also contributed over 20 book chapters and has given hundreds of professional and scientific presentations at local, state, national, and international conferences. He regularly lectures at local physical therapy programs including Thomas Jefferson University, DeSales University, and Arcadia University. He is an active member, past-president, and Fellow of the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Therapists, a founding member of the Mid-Atlantic Shoulder and Elbow Society. He is a founding member and president of the Philadelphia Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation Foundation. His clinical and research interests include outcome measurement as well as rehabilitation of shoulder, elbow, and sports related injuries.
