Austin Nguyen, MD is an Orthopedic Surgery Resident at Houston Methodist Hospital. Austin completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with the highest honors. He continued his medical school training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, graduating at the top of his class and as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society. Austin is committed to providing patient-centered care, engaging in shared decision making, and patient education as he progresses through his Orthopaedic Surgery training. He is dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest research and cutting-edge technologies, and is constantly striving to be a lifelong learner who practices evidence-based medicine. Austin is a published author in prominent journals such as the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of Neurosurgery, Journal of Arthroplasty, and Spine. He serves as a peer reviewer for European Spine Journal, Journal of Spine Surgery, Global Spine Journal, and BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders. He is an active member of North American Spine Society (NASS).
