Dr. Gomez specializes in both operative and nonoperative treatment of scoliosis and other complex spinal conditions in children and adolescents. He also held the position of associate professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Pediatrics. An active researcher, Dr. Gomez focuses on clinical outcomes in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis. He is a member of the Research Council and principal member of the Pediatric Spine Study Group. Dr. Gomez also serves as chair of the Outreach Committee of the Pediatric Spine Foundation. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of several orthopedic societies, including the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America and the Scoliosis Research Society. He has contributed to more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, presented his research at national and international conferences, and participated in numerous medical surgical trips to the Dominican Republic with World Spine Outreach and Butterfly Foundation.
