Biography

Andrew Romero, MD, MS is an Orthopaedic Spine Surgery Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine after completing degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of South Florida. He then completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Central Florida/HCA Healthcare GME Consortium, where he served in his final year as a Chief Resident. Dr. Romero has a strong interest in complex spine surgery, spinal deformity, cervical spine pathology, and innovations in orthopaedic technology, with research spanning spine surgery, biomechanics, implant development, and clinical outcomes. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has been recognized nationally for his leadership and academic contributions through organizations including the Cervical Spine Research Society, North American Spine Society, and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling, hiking in national parks, DIY home improvement and design projects, and spending time with the great outdoors.
