Dr. Alexander Kelsheimer is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, and microsurgery. He provides comprehensive upper extremity care, including fracture management, nerve and tendon injuries, sports injuries, trauma, and arthritic conditions. Dr. Kelsheimer performs minimally invasive arthroscopic and endoscopic procedures, as well as upper extremity total joint replacements. He emphasizes a personalized approach, educating patients about their conditions and involving them in shared decision-making for treatment options. Dr. Kelsheimer graduated as valedictorian from Clarke University with a Bachelor of Science in athletic training and biology. He earned his medical degree from Des Moines University, where he was inducted into the Sigma Sigma Phi and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital and pursued fellowship training at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute at Tampa General Hospital, focusing on hand and upper extremity orthopedic surgery and microsurgery. Dr. Kelsheimer began his practice at Orthopedic Specialists and St. Luke's Hospital, providing comprehensive hand and upper extremity orthopedic care, including microsurgery, to the greater St. Louis area.
