Biography

Dr. Franz Kopp, M.D. received his undergraduate degree at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, in 1994, graduating Magna Cum Laude as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He subsequently received his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 1998, where he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed an internship in general surgery in 1999 at University Hospitals of Cleveland, which is the primary affiliate of Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Kopp then completed a residency in orthopedic surgery in 2003 at University Hospitals of Cleveland, where he was honored with the Chief Resident Teaching Award. Following his residency training, Dr. Kopp completed a fellowship in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City in 2004. Dr. Kopp is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He has authored numerous articles published in peer-reviewed orthopedic journals and has presented his research at numerous national and international meetings. Dr. Kopp’s main clinical interests include orthopedic foot and ankle surgery, general orthopedics, sports medicine, and total joint replacement. Dr. Kopp believes in meeting a patient’s individual needs through a comprehensive evaluation and treatment designed to help them achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle. He combines leading-edge techniques with proven traditional methods to provide his patients with the best orthopedic care possible.
