Dr. William R. Beach is a member of the Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Team at Tuckahoe Orthopaedics. He received his medical degree from Ohio State University. After completing his internship and residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, he was awarded a fellowship in Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Beach and his medical team specialize in operative and non-operative treatment of shoulder, knee, and elbow pain and injuries. They care for patients ages 12 and above. Dr. Beach's particular interests include minimally invasive, arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, and elbow. He has a particular interest in patellar (kneecap) pain based on clinical practice and research efforts. He has also been involved in the all-important work of protecting patients' access to care. He has been a 20-year member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' Coding, Coverage and Reimbursement Committee and has been an outspoken champion of patients and their advocate. Dr. Beach is actively involved with the Arthroscopy Association of North America having served on its Board of Directors for over 12 years and having served as its president in 2014-2015. He has a passion for education and now trains surgeons participating in the same fellowship program that he attended at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia. This is one of the largest Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine fellowship programs on the East Coast. Dr. Beach also participates in orthopedic research which has resulted in numerous improvements in arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Beach grew up in Ohio, where he loved playing sports, especially football. In high school, he earned 10 varsity letters and was an All-State football player. He was later inducted into his high school's Sports Hall of Fame in 1998. He continued to excel in football while attending college at Wittenberg University. He was a Kodak All-American his senior year and an Academic All-American his junior and senior year. He received a NCAA post-graduate scholarship for medical school. He was inducted into the Wittenberg Hall of Honor in 2004. Dr. Beach is married and has four children and ten grandchildren. He continues to stay active and enjoys playing golf in his free time.
