Biography

Dr. William P. Toole, MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, shoulder, and knee surgery. A native of South Carolina, Dr. Toole graduated from the honors college at Clemson University and earned his medical degree with honors from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Florida Health and a fellowship in shoulder and knee surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. During his fellowship, Dr. Toole gained valuable experience treating professional athletes as an assistant team physician for the Houston Texans (NFL), Houston Astros (MLB), Houston Rockets (NBA), and Houston Dynamo (MLS). He specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques for complex shoulder and knee issues, including knee ligament procedures (ACL/PCL/MCL/LCL), meniscal repair, rotator cuff repairs, labral repairs, and cartilage restoration techniques. Dr. Toole is also trained in nonoperative biologic treatments such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).
