Dr. David A. Essig is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He specializes in spinal deformity surgery, spinal infections, spine trauma, metastatic spinal disease, and degenerative conditions of the adult spine. Dr. Essig earned his BA in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics and Economics from Yale University, his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine, completed his residency at Yale University School of Medicine, and a fellowship in Spine and Scoliosis Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is affiliated with Long Island Jewish Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, and Plainview Hospital.
