Dr. Darren L. Johnson is a nationally recognized physician in sports medicine, specializing in complex knee surgery. He serves as a professor and chief of sports medicine at the UK College of Medicine Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Johnson is the head team orthopedic surgeon for the UK Wildcats and has a busy clinical practice treating patients throughout the Commonwealth and surrounding states. He has a particular interest in the prevention and treatment of ACL injuries in athletically active individuals. Dr. Johnson has published over 125 peer-reviewed manuscripts, more than 30 book chapters, and has edited two textbooks: 'Clinical Sports Medicine' and 'Reconstructive Knee Surgery'.
