Biography

Dr. Heeren S. Makanji is an orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in the operative and non-operative treatment of spinal disorders. He has expertise in complex cervical and lumbar reconstruction, minimally invasive, and robotic navigation-assisted spine surgery. Dr. Makanji graduated Summa cum Laude from the University of Connecticut and earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program, serving as chief resident, and pursued fellowship training in Orthopedic Spine Surgery at the Rothman Institute and Thomas Jefferson University. He is affiliated with Hartford Hospital and practices at Orthopaedic Associates of Hartford.
