Dr. Hunter C. Spitz is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in adult hip and knee reconstruction, including primary and revision joint replacement. He is trained extensively in direct anterior approach total hip replacement. Dr. Spitz earned his Doctor of Medicine from Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, serving as Chief Resident. He joined Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates in September 2025 after completing an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Southern Illinois University. Dr. Spitz has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented at national and regional conferences on topics ranging from knee arthroplasty techniques to occupational hazards in orthopaedic surgery. He is Board eligible with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the Ohio Orthopedic Society. Passionate about providing personalized care, Dr. Spitz values building relationships with his patients and helping them return to active, fulfilling lives. Born and raised in the Mahoning Valley, he is excited to return home to care for patients in his community. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Spitz enjoys spending time with family and friends, skiing and snowboarding, traveling (especially to visit family in Australia), cooking, golf, live music, and following Ohio State football and Cleveland sports.
