Biography

Dr. William N. Melton, MD, graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA, and completed his orthopaedic residency at Palmetto USC Orthopaedics in Columbia, SC. He went on to finish a Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship at Beth Israel Lahey in Burlington, MA. Dr. Melton is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Orthopaedic Association, as well as a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Academically, Dr. Melton has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific research articles and textbook chapters, and he presents his research at national meetings. Currently, his ongoing research includes neuropathy of the wrist undergoing carpal tunnel release and revision thumb carpometacarpal arthroplasty using a mini tightrope technique. Dr. Melton specializes in upper extremity cases, arthroscopic surgery, and elbow, wrist, and hand injuries.
