Dr. Charles N. Cornell is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstructive surgery, particularly hip and knee replacements. He graduated cum laude with highest honors in Chemistry from Williams College and earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in 1980. Dr. Cornell completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery and The New York Hospital, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medical College, followed by a fellowship in orthopedic traumatology at the University of Washington School of Medicine in 1986. He has held significant positions, including Clinical Director of Orthopedics at HSS and Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Stamford Health. Dr. Cornell is a Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Attending Orthopedic Surgeon at HSS. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
