Dr. Alex Gitelman specializes in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of spinal disorders. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude in Biochemistry from the State University of New York at Binghamton and his Medical Degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at Stony Brook Medical Center and a fellowship in spine surgery at UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Gitelman has published articles and book chapters and presented studies at numerous national and regional spine surgery conferences. He is fluent in Russian.
