Biography

Dr. Max Michalski is an orthopaedic surgeon who subspecializes in disorders of the foot and ankle. He applies his background in engineering to the complex anatomy and biomechanics of the lower extremity. Dr. Michalski completed his undergrad and Master's degrees in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin before obtaining his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. During medical school, he spent a year at the world-renowned Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, CO performing numerous research projects in engineering and orthopaedics. He was awarded the Abdel-Morrey Award in Orthopaedics in his final year. Following medical school, Dr. Michalski completed residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where he received awards for outstanding teaching by a resident and the Leo Rigler award for resident achievement. Dr. Michalski then completed a fellowship in orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery at Harvard's Brigham and Women's Hospital where he was trained in a wide spectrum of surgical procedures from the latest techniques in minimally invasive surgery, arthroscopy, trauma and reconstruction.
