Dr. Dietrich Riepen, MD, is an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon at CommonSpirit Mercy Orthopedics Associates. He was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and attended the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Economics and graduating summa cum laude from the Plan-I Honors program. He then returned to Dallas for medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern, where he maintained a 4.0 GPA and was inducted into the AOA honor society. After medical school, he completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at UT Southwestern/Parkland Hospital, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He pursued additional fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery at the Reno Orthopedic Clinic, one of the highest volume trauma fellowships in the United States. Dr. Riepen believes the most rewarding part of his job is to restore function after injury and to be there for his patients throughout the entire process. He stays up to date with current orthopedic literature, utilizes the latest techniques, and strives to treat each patient with empathy and diligence.
