Dr. John Scanaliato is a Level I editor for Orthobullets and is currently completing his fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at Rush University Medical Center under the tutelage of Grant Garrigues and Gregory Nicholson. He grew up on Long Island, New York, and attended the University of Maryland for his undergraduate studies. He worked at the Federal Reserve after college and obtained his MD from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, TX, where he served as the academic chief resident. He is the former associate director of orthopaedic research at his institution, and a two-time resident researcher of the year for his program. He serves as an editor for Arthroscopy and as a reviewer for The American Journal of Sports Medicine, The Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Orthopedics. He has authored or co-authored over 55 peer-reviewed publications, has co-authored four textbook chapters, and has presented his research nationally and internationally.
