Biography

Dr. Don Young Park is a Board Certified, fellowship trained Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon with an expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery. He uses advanced minimally invasive techniques to treat degenerative conditions, spinal deformity, spine tumor, and spinal trauma. Dr. Park is the Vice Chair of Quality and Safety for the department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCLA. Dr. Park was born and raised in Los Angeles. He is proud to be an alumnus of UCLA and now part of the faculty at UCLA. Dr. Park received his medical degree from the UCSD School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency and spine surgery fellowship at Stanford. During his time at Stanford, Dr. Park published groundbreaking research in stem cell transplantation in spinal cord injury and was awarded the Cervical Spine Research Society 1st place Fellow Research Award in 2011. He was also awarded the Research Award at Stanford upon graduation. He has authored both basic science and clinical peer-reviewed journal articles, as well as written textbook chapters in spine surgery. Dr. Park has presented his research both nationally and internationally. Dr. Park has a special interest in medical education and clinical research, which brought him to academic medicine at UCLA. His attention to detail, excellent surgical technique, and dedication to his patients produces exceptional results for his patients.
