Biography

Hayden B. Schuette, DO, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery. He manages a wide range of conditions, including shoulder and elbow arthritis, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder instability, and other shoulder and elbow disorders. Dr. Schuette has a particular interest in shoulder replacement procedures, including reverse and anatomic shoulder replacement, revision shoulder replacement, and partial shoulder replacement (pyrocarbon hemiarthroplasty). He also treats knee injuries, wrist and hand conditions, and fractures of the upper and lower extremities. Dr. Schuette completed his undergraduate education at the University of Denver, where he played NCAA Division I lacrosse. During college, he met his wife, a native of Excelsior, Minnesota. His interest in orthopedic surgery began after undergoing shoulder surgery following a lacrosse injury. He earned his medical degree from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Colorado, where he received the Dean’s Award for the highest overall academic achievement in his graduating class. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at OhioHealth/Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and went on to pursue a Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at Western Orthopaedics/Rose Medical Center in Denver. There, he gained extensive experience managing complex shoulder and elbow conditions. Throughout his career, Dr. Schuette has been recognized for both academic and clinical excellence. He is actively involved in research, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations. He serves as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and is a member of the prestigious American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. Outside of medicine, Dr. Schuette enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. His hobbies include exercising, coaching his children’s sports teams, snowboarding, and enjoying the outdoors and lakes.
