Through this, most Dr. Assini's patients will leave the hospital the same day as their surgery. “I was up and walking in the early hours after surgery and home after about seven hours... My recovery was fast and relatively painless.” – Patient D.S. Innovating Minimally Invasive Techniques Committed to innovation and excellence, Dr. Assini is active in research and is currently participating in multiple clinical studies evaluating implant designs and new techniques to improve patient care. He also is a developer of the AnteriorPATH technique for total hip arthroplasty, which is a novel procedure to enhance the recovery of patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty. At present, he is the highest volume user of this procedure in the Western United States. Dr. Assini continues to research ways to advance treatment and improve outcomes. He most recently studied the effects of metal-on-metal total hip implants, examining the reasons for failure and ways to manage patients with failed implants. This study is among several of Dr. Assini’s research endeavors that have been selected for presentation at national and international meetings. “My total knee replacement has given me my active lifestyle back. At 4 weeks post-surgery I was snowshoeing, at 7 weeks I was cross country skiing, at 8 weeks I was downhill skiing on greens, at 12 weeks I was hiking and walking up to 5 miles.” – Patient A.G. Specialized Education and Expertise Dr. Assini has been in practice for more than 15 years.
