Biography

Dr. Aaron Black is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and trauma at CommonSpirit Summit Orthopedics. He focuses on building strong patient relationships and guiding them through every stage of their injury journey, from diagnosis to full recovery. His expertise includes knee and shoulder sports injuries, ACL reconstruction, multi-ligamentous knee surgery, cartilage restoration, meniscus tears, patellar instability, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability, shoulder replacements, open shoulder surgery, AC separations, and shoulder fractures. Dr. Black earned his Bachelor's in Biology from Colorado College, a Master's in Medical Sciences from Loyola University in Chicago, and his Medical Degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Tufts Combined Orthopedic Residency and a Sports and Ski Trauma Fellowship at the Taos Orthopedic Institute. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and serves as a U.S. Ski Team physician. Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Black enjoys skiing, mountain biking, working on cars, and spending time with his dog.
