Biography

Dr. David G. Lewallen is a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He specializes in hip and knee replacements, trauma care, and joint revisions. Dr. Lewallen has been involved in the development of several novel implant designs for hip and knee arthroplasty, particularly focusing on revision surgery and the management of periarticular bone loss. He has served as the first Chair of the Board of Directors and Medical Director of the American Joint Replacement Registry. Dr. Lewallen's clinical research interests include the prevention and treatment of arthroplasty complications.
