Dr. Ian Whitney is an Assistant Professor/Clinical in the Department of Orthopaedics at UT Health San Antonio. He earned his medical degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine in 2009, completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2014, and a fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center in 2015. Dr. Whitney actively participates in research involving infection prevention and treatment, as well as shoulder and elbow, sports medicine, and arthritis research. He is committed to mentorship and teaching for medical students and residents and has served as a volunteer in the Haiti Relief Aid effort during the fall of 2013. He is married with four children and enjoys spending time with his family outdoors. Dr. Whitney has a passion for teaching and cares for his patients with the same love and compassion he would for his family.
