Dr. Spencer H. Summers is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive, complex, and revision hip and knee replacements. He has a particular interest in anterior hip replacement, hip resurfacing, robotic-assisted or computer-navigated surgeries, and revision hip and knee replacements. Dr. Summers graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Vanderbilt University with honors in Spanish and Pre-medical studies. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was elected chief administrative resident and recognized as an Emerging Leader by the American Orthopedic Association. Dr. Summers completed his fellowship in hip and knee preservation, resurfacing, and replacement at Washington University in St. Louis. He is passionate about utilizing research and technology to advance the field of hip and knee replacement and improve patient outcomes. Dr. Summers has published his research in leading, peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
