Biography

Joel Huleatt, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. He specializes in fracture care, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery for knee, shoulder, and other joint injuries, and shoulder replacements. Dr. Huleatt attended Medical School at Brown University. He then completed a research internship in Sports Medicine at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado, did his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at Emory University, and completed a fellowship in Orthopaedics Sports Medicine and Shoulder Arthroplasty at the University of Connecticut. Prior to his medical training, Dr. Huleatt graduated at the top of his class from St. Bonaventure University. Dr. Huleatt is a physician for the US Ski and Snowboard Team, and travels internationally to cover events. Dr. Huleatt is committed to making sure his patients understand the details of their injuries and the available treatment options. He is highly experienced in arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, shoulder replacements, the arthroscopic treatment of ACL, meniscus, and cartilage injuries of the knee, and in fracture care of the extremities. His expertise also includes treating sports and cartilage injuries in pediatric and adolescent patients with open growth plates. He keeps up to date with the latest information, surgical techniques, and technology through membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, New England Shoulder and Elbow Society, and New Hampshire Orthopaedic Society. Outside of work, Dr. Huleatt enjoys skiing, mountain biking, playing hockey, soccer, surfing, trail running, and being on the lake or in the mountains with his family.
