Biography

Dr. Travis Scudday is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement, fractures of the upper and lower extremities, and arthritis of the hip and knee. He practices minimally invasive techniques for primary hip and knee replacement, anterior hip replacement, revision hip and knee surgery, and partial knee replacement. Dr. Scudday completed his fellowship in Adult Reconstruction, Arthritis, and Joint Replacement Surgery at Hoag Orthopedic Institute in Irvine, California. Prior to joining Hoag Orthopedic Institute, he completed his orthopedic residency at Loma Linda Medical Center, where he was chosen by his attendings to be the senior resident representative and subsequently elected to attend the American Orthopedic Association leadership meeting in 2016. Dr. Scudday completed medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. Prior to medical school, Dr. Scudday was a student-athlete who played football at the University of San Diego and graduated Cum Laude with a major in Chemistry. He grew up locally in Villa Park and attended Servite High School. Dr. Scudday is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, California Orthopedic Association, and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He has published and is involved in ongoing research on topics including hip and knee replacement, implant selection, and patient outcomes. Dr. Scudday has been actively involved in community outreach and completed a medical mission to the Dominican Republic, where he performed pediatric orthopedic surgery and community education. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife (fellow USD graduate and student athlete – Viva Toreros!), taking his daughters to baseball games, and a variety of outdoor activities including running, snowboarding, and paddle boarding.
