Dr. William E. Carlson is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and Managing Partner of South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. He earned his Medical Degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 1981 and completed his Orthopaedic Surgical Training at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in 1986. Dr. Carlson has focused his orthopaedic practice on shoulder care and treatment, including arthroscopic and shoulder stabilizing procedures. He also performs Total Shoulder Replacement surgery, including Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement. Dr. Carlson has practiced orthopaedic surgery since 1986 and has held several administrative Medical Staff positions at Martin Health Systems, including Member of the Board of Directors, Co-Chairman of the Professional Affairs Committee, and President of the Medical Staff. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an Assistant Professor at Florida State University College of Medicine. Dr. Carlson has presented clinical research at national meetings and is published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
