Biography

Dr. Edward Diao is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, upper extremity, and microvascular surgery. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and earned his MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Diao completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital under the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Program and a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Roosevelt Hospital Hand Surgery Service. In 1993, he became Chief of the Division of Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microvascular Surgery at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, serving for 13 years. He is currently Professor Emeritus at UCSF and practices in San Francisco, California.
