Methandrostenolone (Dianabol) is an anabolic steroid. A majority of users of anabolic steroids experience side-effects including acne (40-54%), testicular atrophy (40-51%), gynecomastia (10-34%), cutaneous stria (34%), and injection site pain (36%). Hypertension, altered lipoprotein profile, and decreased sperm count are also common. Decreased vision is not a known side effect of anabolic steroids. This steroid was first commercially manufactured in 1960 and quickly became the most used and abused steroid worldwide, remaining so to date. Evans describes the effects of anabolic steroids on the various organ systems.
