A 12-year-old male presents with 6 months history of persistent right knee pain. He denies symptoms of infection, swelling or instability. Physical examination reveal an antalgic gait, as well as increased pain when the knee is forced into full flexion while in the supine position. Apart from activity modification at school, he has not received formal treatment for his knee pain. A radiograph of his knee is shown in Figure A. His growth chart is seen in Figure B. What would be the next best step in the management of this patient?
