A 38-year-old male is involved in a high speed motor vehicle collision. He has a Glasgow Coma Scale of 13 and receives 2 liters of fluid en route to the emergency department. Upon evaluation in the emergency department, he is found to have a bilateral femoral shaft fractures, a right ankle fracture, and a left both bone forearm fracture. He also has 2 left sided rib fracture and a grade II liver laceration. His heart rate is 130 and blood pressure is 85/50.
