Review Question - QID 3749

A 55-year-old male reports a 6-month history of neck and arm pain. He reports a shooting sensation from his neck to his left long finger. He also reports numbness of his left long and index fingers. Physical exam shows weakness to wrist flexion. Figure A is an axial image from his affected level. He has tried physical therapy, NSAIDS, and gabapentin during that time and remains symptomatic. The patient wishes to avoid surgery and would like to proceed with a selective nerve root injection. What cervical level should be targeted, and what is the likelihood it will lead to improvement at one year.
