A 55-year-old female presents to the emergency department with pain and swelling in the right knee after she lost her footing and slipped down stairs earlier today. Plain films of the right knee are shown in figures A & B. Per your institution's protocol, the patient undergoes both a CT scan and an MRI to evaluate for fracture pattern and concomitant soft tissue injury. MRI shows a meniscocapsular avulsion of the lateral meniscus.
